Azione Verde University is derived from Opera Don Bonifacio Azione Verde which means "green action university" relating to a hopeful colour that breaks the barriers associated with segregation and discrimination.
The university is situated on a spacious site at Amaju, Amaigbo, Nwangele Local Government, Imo State, Nigeria.
The university began operations following approval from the Federal Government on the 14th of August, 2025.
